- Made his international debut for Pakistan at the ICC WT20 2009 taking six wickets in the tournament.
- Became the youngest Pakistani to take four wickets in an ODI when he took 4-28 against Sri Lanka at Colombo in August 2009 aged 17 years 118 days.
- Was one of the leading wicket-takers in the Quaid-e-Azam Trophy in 2008/09, taking 55 wickets at an average of 15.05 in nine matches for National Bank of Pakistan.
- Represented Pakistan at the ICC U/19 CWC in Malaysia in 2008, but only played one match before heading home with dengue fever.
