LAHORE: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) have agreed in principle to make the current judicial system more effective and not to let the democratic system be derailed, reported ARY NEWS.
The agreement was achieved during a meeting held here Monday between Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani and Chief Minster Punjab Mian Shahbaz Sharif – the first after the verdict of Supreme Court of Pakistan that declared National Reconciliation Ordinance (NRO) invalid and unconstitutional.
The two leaders also discussed the barrage of media statements delivered by the leaders of both the parties against each other following SC’s judgment and agreed to restrict the practice.
The PM and CM Punjab, who also serves as the President PML-N, also agreed to move the politics of reconciliation ahead and not to let anyone derail the process between the two parties.
Among others issues relating to security arrangements in Muharram and increase in the size of Punjab government were also came under discussion during the meeting, it was reported.
