ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousuf Raza Gilani said on Thursday that the Pakistan Peoples Party government “respects all institution,” and said nothing would spare if clashed occurred between key institutions, ARY NEWS reported.In chat with media anchor persons here, Gilani said PPP government would complete its term because it had been elected by the people for 5 years. “The government is not going anywhere in March,” he affirmed.
He said the government honours the court verdict on NRO, adding that had restored deposed judges, and not General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani.
He said UN report on Benazir Bhuto murder case would soon be presented before the National Assembly.
Gilani said “We are prepared to initiate a trial against former president Pervez Musharraf if our coalition partners support us.”
To a query, the premier said PPP’s spokesperson Fauzia Wahab would not issue any statement regarding government’s policy and she will only talk about party’s policies.
Replying another question Gilani said “I am running the government while party’s affairs are being looked after by co-chairman.”
Earlier today, In an interview with a private news TV, Gilani said PPP had improved its relations with army for the first time, adding Pakistan army had always supported democracy in the country.
Gilani said the army had played its role in supporting democracy “and that is why Asif Ali Zardari became President.”
He said had the Chief of Army Staff General Ashfaq Pervez Kayani wanted he would have supported General Musharraf, “but he did not do so and backed the democracy,” Gilani said.
“Together we will have to dispel this wrong impression against the army chief,” he said.
To a query about Kerry-Logar bill, the premier said “army is with the government.”
He ruled out the impression that army has any connection with restoration of Chief Justice of Pakistan. “Army has no connection with CJ’s restoration.
He said “The ISI is working under my supervision. I am satisfied with its performance,” he added.
