PESHAWAR: A suicide bomber blew himself up while failed in his attempt to enter a main commercial area in downtown Peshawar, killing at least four and injuring 27 others, reported ARY NEWS Thursday.According to preliminary reports, a suspected bomber was trying to dodge security personnel deputed at a police check post set up outside main office of Pakistan International Airline (PIA) in State Life Building – located at Mall Road, the main commercial area of the city.
The bomber blew up his suicide waist when policemen at the post cautioned and attempted to restrict him from entering the area, killing at least four and injuring several others.
One police constable Hayatullah was also among the deceased, the channel added.
Police and paramedical teams arrived at the scene soon after the blast and rushed the injured and dead to Lady Reading Hospital. Area was cordoned off for general public as the law enforcement personnel were collecting evidences from the site.
