PESHAWAR: Security forces cleared 50 compounds and bunkers of militants in South Waziristan and apprehended 18 suspected terrorists from Swat and Malakand.According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces carried out search and clearance operations in Basti Dewala near Gomal University, Wanda Mochian in Dera Ismail Khan and apprehended a large number of suspects.
In the Razmak region, security forces conducted search operations in Lowara Punga near Mana and cleared 50 compounds and bunkers.
Two Afghan suspects were also apprehended and a cache of arms and ammunition was recovered from the site.
In Swat and Malakand, five suspected terrorists voluntarily surrendered to security forces.
Meanwhile, Security officials handed over 60 arrested militants to the political administration of Jamrud on Thursday.
According to officials, the militants arrested a week ago have now been taken for further interrogation by the political administration.
Security forces have also seized an explosive laden truck in Bara Tehail.
However, the militants managed to escape and the search for fleeing suspects is underway. Forces also averted an attack on an FC convoy by defusing two roadside bombs in Bara Tehsil.
